The Verdict
The Lowrance Elite FS 9 is the benchmark for mid-range networking and sonar integration. It stands out by offering full Ethernet connectivity, allowing users to link Halo Radar, share waypoints across multiple displays, and run ActiveTarget 2 Live Sonar. The 9-inch multi-touch display provides a responsive interface for C-MAP Contour+ charts, which offer critical 1-foot contours on over 8,900 lakes.
Value vs. Trade-off
The primary trade-off is that this specific SKU excludes the transducer, and utilizing Active Imaging HD requires an additional S3100 module. While the 800x480 resolution is lower than flagship series, the Elite FS 9 remains an essential buy for those building a networked system; it delivers flagship-level data sharing and live sonar compatibility at a price point that makes professional-grade electronics accessible.
