ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQL1B 34 Inch 1440p 165Hz Ultrawide HDR Gaming Monitor | ELMB Sync, 1ms, FreeSync Premium, Height Adjustable, HDR, DisplayHDR 400, Eye Care, 1500R Curve, for PS5 and Xbox

The ASUS TUF VG34VQL1B is an immersion-first ultrawide that delivers high-end specs at a mid-range price point. Its 3440 x 1440 resolution combined with a 165Hz refresh rate provides a fluid, expansive field of view that excels in both open-world gaming and multitasking. The 1500R curvature is the sweet spot for a 34-inch panel, wrapping the screen around your periphery without distorting the image. Because it utilizes a VA panel, the contrast ratio is exceptional, offering deep blacks that make it superior to most IPS competitors for late-night gaming or cinematic content.

The primary trade-off is the inherent VA motion smear, particularly in dark scenes where fast-moving objects can leave a slight trail. While the ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology helps sharpen the image, it comes at the cost of reduced peak brightness. Furthermore, the DisplayHDR 400 performance is entry-level; it provides a slight bump in color depth but lacks the zone-dimming required for "true" high-dynamic range.

The Verdict: While competitive shooters might find the black smearing a hurdle, these flaws are easily overshadowed by the sheer utility of this display. Given its competitive price point, obtaining a high-refresh, 21:9 WQHD panel with this level of build quality is rare. It remains a top-tier "buy" for gamers who want massive screen real estate and punchy contrast without the steep premium of OLED or IPS alternatives.
