Acer 15.6in FHD 1920x1080 IPS 60Hz Slim Portable Monitor PM161Q B1bmiuux | 4ms, AdaptiveSync, HDMI, 2xUSB-C, Speaker, External Monitor for Laptop PC/MAC, PS5, XBOX, Switch, VESA Mountable

The Acer PM161Q is a no-frills productivity booster designed for the mobile professional who prioritizes extreme portability over high-end media specs. At just 1.52 lbs and 0.41 inches thin, it is one of the lightest 15.6-inch displays in its class, sliding into a laptop sleeve with zero friction.

Value:
The Full HD IPS panel delivers solid 178-degree viewing angles, ensuring consistent color when used as a secondary vertical or horizontal screen. Its integrated tilt stand (0° to 90°) is a significant ergonomic win, eliminating the need for flimsy "origami" magnetic covers. Connectivity is a standout strength; unlike many competitors that rely solely on USB-C, this model includes a dedicated HDMI 1.4 port and an audio out, making it compatible with older laptops, cameras, and consoles. The single-cable USB-C solution handles power, data, and video simultaneously, keeping your mobile workstation clutter-free.

Trade-off:
The display tops out at 250 nits of brightness, which is perfectly adequate for indoor offices but will struggle against heavy glare or direct sunlight. Additionally, while the inclusion of 1-watt speakers is a nice touch for notifications, they lack the depth required for meaningful media consumption. The 60Hz refresh rate is standard for office work but won't satisfy high-frame-rate gamers.

The Verdict:
Despite the modest peak brightness and tinny audio, the Acer PM161Q is an excellent "buy" for travelers and remote workers. Most portable monitors at this price point sacrifice build quality or port variety; Acer provides a stable, versatile, and ultra-lightweight secondary display that pays for itself in multitasking efficiency. If you need a reliable second screen for spreadsheets, coding, or presentations that won't weigh down your bag, this is the best value-to-weight ratio on the market.
