LG 27GX704A-B 27-inch Ultragear QHD (2650x1440) OLED Gaming Monitor 240Hz, 0.03ms, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, VESA Display HDR TrueBlack400, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, Black

The LG 27GX704A-B UltraGear OLED is a high-performance display that finally delivers a glossy finish to the 27-inch OLED segment. By removing the traditional matte coating, LG has significantly improved visual clarity and color depth, making the QHD resolution punch well above its weight class.

### The Value: Elite Speed and Visual Pop
The standout feature is the combination of a 240Hz refresh rate and a near-instant 0.03ms GtG response time. This makes motion blur virtually non-existent, providing a massive advantage in competitive shooters. Because it is an OLED, you get infinite contrast and true blacks that LED-backlit monitors cannot replicate. With a 1300-nit peak brightness and 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, HDR content is vivid, accurate, and incredibly immersive.

### The Trade-off: Inherent OLED Risks
The primary drawbacks are the risk of image retention (burn-in) over long periods of static use and a standard brightness of 275 nits, which may struggle in rooms with heavy direct sunlight. Furthermore, while 1440p is ideal for 27-inch gaming, those looking for maximum text density for professional design work might find 4K alternatives more suitable.

### The Final Verdict
Despite the inherent risks of OLED technology, LG’s integrated OLED Care features and automated cleaning cycles provide enough protection for the average gamer to buy with confidence. The trade-off in brightness is a small price to pay for the unmatched motion handling and superior contrast offered by the glossy panel. For gamers who prioritize speed, responsiveness, and elite HDR performance, this monitor is a top-tier investment that justifies its premium by outperforming almost everything else in its size category.
