Shark Rocket Corded Stick Vacuum, Carpet & Hard Floors, Gray/Orange, HV301 | Under 9 Lbs., Handheld Conversion, Pet Hair Pickup, Swivel Steering, Low-Profile Reach, Crevice and Upholstery Tools

The Shark Rocket HV301 is a high-utility workhorse that bridges the gap between bulky uprights and underpowered sticks. By opting for a corded design, it provides unlimited runtime and consistent suction that battery-powered competitors simply cannot match at this price point.

Value vs. Trade-off

The Value:
The standout feature is the ultra-lightweight 9-pound frame, which allows for effortless floor-to-ceiling cleaning. Users prioritize this model for its swivel steering, which offers surgical precision around furniture legs, and its seamless conversion to a handheld unit—making it the gold standard for cleaning stairs and car interiors. The fingertip controls are intuitive, allowing you to transition from deep-pile carpet to hardwood without breaking your stride.

The Trade-off:
Because the motor and dust cup are located in the handle, the vacuum is notably top-heavy and cannot stand upright on its own. You must use the storage hook or lean it securely against a corner to prevent it from tipping. Furthermore, the dust cup is small, necessitating frequent emptying during heavy-duty cleaning sessions.

The Verdict:
Despite the minor inconvenience of the cord and its inability to stand unsupported, the HV301 is an exceptional value. It delivers professional-grade suction and versatility for a fraction of the cost of premium cordless brands. If you value sustained power over cordless convenience and need a machine that can handle both pet hair and high-reach dusting, this is an essential, budget-friendly buy that punch well above its weight class.
