Shark PowerDetect Upright Vacuum, HEPA Filter, Lift-Away, Eggplant, AZ4002 | DuoClean Detect, Dirt, Edge, Floor & Direction Sensors, Powerful Suction for Pet Hair Pickup, No Hair Wrap, Odor Neutralizer

The Shark PowerDetect AZ4002 is a specialized workhorse designed for high-traffic homes where deep-cleaning power is the non-negotiable priority.

The Value:
The standout feature is the Intelli-Sense sensor suite, which removes the guesswork by automatically boosting suction for hidden dirt and wall edges. Unlike standard uprights, its Direction Detect technology maintains maximum cleaning efficiency in both forward and reverse strokes, significantly cutting down cleaning time. For pet owners, the combination of DuoClean dual brushrolls and a legitimate self-cleaning system means you can transition from carpets to hard floors without hair wrap or debris scattering. The HEPA-sealed filtration and odor neutralizer further elevate it from a basic vacuum to a comprehensive home maintenance tool.

The Trade-off:
At this performance tier, the primary drawback is physical weight and bulk. While the Powered Lift-Away feature makes stairs manageable, this is a substantial machine that lacks the nimble feel of a cordless stick. The sensor-driven automation also means you are relying on onboard electronics to dictate power levels, which can occasionally feel over-responsive on transition strips.

Final Verdict:
While it is undeniably heavy, the trade-off is unrivaled suction and 99.99% allergen trapping that lightweight alternatives simply cannot match. For the price, you are investing in industrial-grade debris pickup and autonomous features that ensure no spot is missed. If your priority is a professional-level clean and total hair management, the AZ4002 is the definitive "buy" for serious households.
