Garmin Forerunner® 965, Running Smartwatch, 47mm, Black/Powder Gray | Maps, Advanced Training Metrics & Recovery Insights, Maps, Music On Your Wrist, Garmin Coach, Daily Suggested Workouts

Value: The Garmin Forerunner 965 is the definitive choice for serious athletes who refuse to compromise between premium mapping and a vibrant AMOLED display. Its standout feature is the 23-day battery life, which effectively eliminates the "charge-every-night" requirement common in high-brightness smartwatches. The lightweight titanium bezel houses a suite of elite metrics, including Training Readiness and wrist-based running power, providing a data-dense experience that is both readable in direct sunlight and incredibly deep for marathon or triathlon prep.

Trade-off: The primary hurdle is the premium price point, which demands a significant investment compared to more basic trackers. Additionally, the single 47mm case size may feel cumbersome on smaller wrists, and the absence of a Sapphire crystal option means the screen requires more care in technical trail environments to avoid scratches.

Verdict: Despite the high entry cost, the Forerunner 965 is a top-tier investment for performance-focused runners. When weighed against its flagship-level GPS accuracy and class-leading recovery insights, the price is justified by the sheer volume of actionable training data it provides. For those who want the best-looking screen without sacrificing pro-level marathon tools, this remains the gold standard.
