Kenmore Lightweight Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner | 4 Height Adjustment, Pet HandiMate Tool and 2 Cleaning Tools for Carpet, Hard Floor and Pet Hair - DU1040

The Kenmore DU1040 Featherlite delivers top-tier suction power in a frame that weighs less than 12 pounds. Its standout feature is the swivel steering, which provides a level of agility usually reserved for high-end models, making it ideal for tight floor plans. Pet owners will find the included Pet HandiMate tool indispensable for lifting ground-in fur from stairs and upholstery, while the 4-position height adjustment allows for seamless transitions between bare floors and varying carpet piles.

The compromises are primarily found in the build and convenience: the brush roll cannot be turned off while using the hose, and the all-plastic construction feels less robust than premium alternatives. You also sacrifice "luxury" extras like LED headlights and a long power cord. However, these omissions are exactly why the price remains accessible. For users prioritizing maneuverability and aggressive dirt pickup over fancy trimmings, the DU1040 is a smart, high-utility buy that punches well above its weight class.
