msi PRO MP225 E12VL, 22-inch1920 x 1080 (FHD) Computer Monitor, 120Hz, Adaptive-Sync, HDMI, Video Port, VESA Mountable, Tilt, 1ms, Black

The MSI PRO MP225 E12VL is a specialized budget monitor that breaks from the entry-level pack by prioritizing motion clarity and contrast over pure screen real estate. While most office displays settle for a 60Hz or 75Hz refresh rate, this unit pushes to 120Hz, providing a significantly smoother experience for both fast-paced work and casual gaming.

### Value vs. Trade-off

* The Value: The standout feature is the VA panel’s 4000:1 contrast ratio, which delivers deep, ink-like blacks that standard IPS monitors simply cannot match. This makes it an excellent choice for dark-room environments or users who frequently work with text and code. The addition of Adaptive-Sync ensures tear-free visuals, while the Eye-Q Check tool and TÜV-certified anti-flicker technology provide tangible benefits for long-term ocular health. The built-in accessory slot on the base is a clever, low-tech solution for keeping a smartphone or stylus within reach.

* The Trade-off: At 21.45 inches, the screen size is on the smaller side for modern setups, and the stand is limited to tilt-only adjustments, lacking height or pivot flexibility. Connectivity is functional but basic, including a legacy VGA port alongside a single HDMI 1.4b, which limits multi-device setups without a switcher.

Verdict: These concessions are minor when measured against the price point. For students or professionals seeking a compact, secondary screen, the MSI PRO MP225 E12VL is an easy buy. You are essentially getting gaming-grade fluidness (120Hz) and premium contrast at a price usually reserved for sluggish, washed-out office panels, making it one of the highest-value "small" monitors on the market.
