Moto G Power 5G | 2024 | Unlocked | Made for US 8/128GB | 50MP Camera | Midnight Blue

The Motorola Moto G Power 5G (2024) delivers compelling value for its price point. Its long-lasting 5000mAh battery is a major highlight, consistently providing multiple days of use for many users, further complemented by 30W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging – a rare inclusion in this segment. The device boasts a vibrant 6.7" FHD+ 120Hz display for immersive entertainment and a capable MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor that offers smooth, responsive performance for daily tasks. The premium vegan leather design offers a comfortable, fingerprint-resistant feel, and the inclusion of NFC is a welcome practical addition. Audio experience is enhanced by Dolby Atmos multidimensional stereo sound.

However, trade-offs exist. While featuring a 50MP camera system with OIS, camera quality is often described as mediocre or inconsistent, especially in challenging lighting, and the effective photo resolution is 12.5MP. The display, though good, is an LCD panel, not OLED, which means colors and brightness might not match some competitors, particularly in direct sunlight, and it features noticeably thick bezels. Users may also find some preinstalled bloatware and a promise of only one major OS update.

Despite these drawbacks, with an MSRP around $299.99, the Moto G Power 5G (2024) remains a strong buy for the user prioritizing exceptional battery life, fluid performance for everyday tasks, a large vibrant screen, and premium design without breaking the bank. The camera performance is adequate, and the display limitations are acceptable given the overall package and competitive pricing, making it an Editors' Choice for affordable Android phones.
