Amazon Basics 24 Inch (23.8 inch viewable) Gaming Monitor, FHD 1080P, 165Hz, VESA Compatible, Adaptive sync, 1ms Response, Black

The Amazon Basics 24M2020GNA is a high-utility entry point for competitive 1080p gaming. Its primary value lies in the 165Hz IPS panel, a significant upgrade over the washed-out TN panels typically found at this price point. Users highlight the 1ms response time and Adaptive Sync compatibility as standout features that effectively eliminate screen tearing and motion blur in fast-paced titles.

The trade-offs are strictly physical and ergonomic. The integrated speakers are tinny and lack depth, making external audio almost mandatory for immersive play. Additionally, the included stand only supports tilt, lacking the height or swivel adjustments found on premium models. You must also ensure you use a DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 cable and manually update your OS display settings to actually unlock the 165Hz refresh rate.

Despite the basic plastic build and utilitarian stand, this monitor is an essential buy for budget-focused players. Amazon has prioritized the high-speed IPS glass—the component that defines the gaming experience—while cutting costs on non-essential housing and audio. At its current price, the raw performance density makes it nearly impossible to beat for a starter or secondary gaming setup.
