TCL 85 Inch T7 Series 4K 144Hz QLED Smart Google TV, 85T7 (Latest Model) | Dolby Vision HDR and Atmos, HDR10+, Game Accelerator 288 and VRR for Sports and Gaming, Alexa+, Native 144Hz Refresh Rate

The TCL 85 Inch Class T7 Series (85T7, 2025 Model) delivers a compelling proposition for those seeking a large, feature-rich QLED TV without a flagship price tag.

Value: This 85-inch display offers a stunning 4K UltraHD QLED panel for rich, vibrant colors and impressive detail, covering nearly the entire DCI-P3 color space. Gamers and sports enthusiasts will appreciate the 144Hz panel refresh rate with Motion Rate 480 and MEMC frame insertion, ensuring an ultra-smooth, blur-free viewing experience. The TCL AiPQ Pro Processor intelligently optimizes picture quality, handling all major HDR formats including Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Integration with Google TV provides effortless access to streaming, voice control via Google Assistant or Alexa, and seamless content sharing with Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2. Crucially, the 85T7 enhances audio with Dolby Atmos and a dedicated subwoofer for a 2.1-channel setup, delivering more immersive sound than many competitors in its class. Its FullView 360 Metal Bezel-less Design and width-adjustable feet add a premium aesthetic and practical versatility.

Trade-off: To achieve its aggressive price point, the 85T7 utilizes a Direct LED backlight system, skipping the more advanced MiniLED technology found in TCL's higher-end series. This means while brightness is strong, particularly for the 85-inch model with its High Brightness+ technology, it won't offer the same precise local dimming zones or peak HDR brightness and contrast as MiniLED or OLED alternatives. Additionally, while the 85-inch model's 2.1-channel audio is a notable improvement, built-in sound across the T7 series can be a compromise compared to dedicated sound systems.

Verdict: The TCL 85T7 is an exceptional value for its size and feature set, especially for gamers and movie lovers who prioritize a large, smooth, and vibrant picture without breaking the bank. While it foregoes MiniLED backlighting, a common trade-off at this price, the QLED panel, 144Hz refresh rate, comprehensive HDR support, and enhanced 2.1-channel audio make it a standout. For those unwilling to invest in premium flagship models but demanding a truly cinematic and responsive big-screen experience, the 85T7 remains a strong buy.
