DEWALT 4 Gal. 5.0 HP Poly Wet/Dry Vacuum with Hose and Accessories DXV04T

The DEWALT DXV04T is a purpose-built, high-performance utility vacuum that trades the traditional "bucket on wheels" design for a rugged, stackable toolbox form factor.

### The Value
The standout feature is the 5 Peak HP motor, which delivers surprising suction (90 CFM) for such a compact unit. Its rectangular design makes it exceptionally stable—it won’t tip over like cylindrical shop vacs—and it stores easily on shelves or in truck beds. Users consistently praise the ultra-flexible 7-foot hose and the generous 20-foot power cord, which provide a massive cleaning radius without hunting for outlets. The integrated storage for the hose, cord, and nozzles is executed better than almost any competitor, ensuring the unit remains a self-contained, grab-and-go tool.

### The Trade-off
The primary drawback is the lack of wheels. This is a stationary-style vacuum meant to be carried via its sturdy top handle; if you need to clean large floor areas frequently, the manual lifting becomes a chore. Additionally, the 4-gallon capacity is optimized for portability, meaning it will fill up quickly during heavy wet-pickup tasks. It also carries a premium price tag compared to entry-level 4-gallon vacuums.

### The Verdict
While you pay more for the brand name and the unique shape, the DXV04T is an essential buy for mobile contractors, car detailers, and homeowners with limited storage. The higher cost is justified by superior build quality and quiet operation that cheaper alternatives lack. If you prioritize durability, storage efficiency, and raw suction power over rolling mobility, this is the most capable portable vacuum in its class.
