SAMSUNG 65" Class Q7FD Series 4K QLED Smart TV

The Samsung 65-Inch Class QLED Q7F Series (2025 Model) positions itself as an accessible QLED, delivering a strong feature set for general viewing and smart home integration.

Value: This 65-inch QLED offers dramatically clear color and sound with its Quantum HDR and Q4 AI Gen1 Processor, ensuring content is upscaled to stunning 4K and optimized for picture and audio quality. Users appreciate the over a billion colors with 100% color volume, certified by Pantone, delivering vivid and accurate hues. The Object Tracking Sound Lite provides a more immersive audio experience. Security is robust, with Samsung Knox Security offering triple-layer data protection for personal information and connected IoT devices. A significant draw is the world of content at your fingertips, including over 2,700 free channels via Samsung TV Plus, eliminating the need for additional subscriptions. Its Smart TV platform with Alexa Built-in and Tizen OS provides seamless navigation and extensive app support. For casual gamers, the TV offers low input lag, ensuring a responsive experience.

Trade-off: Critical compromises exist. The Q7F lacks local dimming, resulting in lifted, grayish blacks and sub-par contrast, particularly noticeable in dark room viewing environments. HDR brightness is limited, preventing highlights from truly popping and making HDR content less impactful. Viewing angles are poor due to its VA panel, causing a loss of color and contrast when not viewed head-on, making it unsuitable for wide seating arrangements. For avid gamers, the TV's 60Hz native refresh rate and absence of HDMI 2.1 features like 120Hz and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) mean it cannot fully leverage modern console capabilities, and motion can appear blurry. Reflection handling and SDR brightness are also sub-par, making it a less ideal choice for brightly lit rooms.

Verdict: While the Samsung 65-Inch Q7F (2025) makes sacrifices in black levels, HDR performance, viewing angles, and advanced gaming features, these are direct trade-offs for its budget-friendly QLED price point. For users prioritizing vibrant, accurate QLED color, smart features, and a large screen size for casual viewing in moderately lit rooms, this TV delivers substantial value. It’s a solid buy for the right consumer who prioritizes core picture enhancement and smart connectivity over premium dark-room performance or cutting-edge gaming capabilities.
