Lifetime Fishing Kayak, Yukon Angler 116

The Lifetime Yukon Angler 116 is a stability powerhouse designed for the budget-conscious angler who refuses to compromise on safety or fishability. Its standout feature is the tri-hull design, which provides enough initial stability for stand-up casting—a rarity at this price point. The adjustable frame seating system is equally impressive, offering high/low settings and quick-dry mesh that keep you dry and comfortable for 8+ hour sessions. High-utility additions like the integrated skeg wheel for easy transport, 12-inch accessory tracks, and transducer-ready scupper holes bridge the gap between entry-level boats and professional rigs.

At nearly 80 lbs, the trade-off is a heavy vessel that is difficult to car-top solo. Its wide beam makes it sluggish in open water and less maneuverable in heavy current or high wind compared to narrower touring models. Users should also note the front oval hatch opens into a massive, undivided internal hull, requiring secondary storage bins to keep gear from sliding out of reach.

Despite the weight and modest speed, the Yukon Angler 116 remains an unbeatable value proposition. For the price of a basic recreational boat, you get a rock-solid fishing platform with a seating system that rivals models double its price. If you prioritize a stable, customizable fishing rig over a fast-paddling commuter, this is the best mid-sized investment in its category.
