The Verdict
The Bissell MultiClean 2998 excels as a mid-range powerhouse for pet owners, centered on its 2-in-1 Lift-Off design that allows the canister to detach for seamless stair and upholstery cleaning. The HEPA Sealed Allergen System is a standout feature at this price point, capturing 99.97% of dust and dander, while the Tangle-Free Brush Roll effectively manages long hair without constant manual maintenance. Users prioritize this model for its LED headlights that reveal hidden debris and its nimble swivel steering.
The Trade-offs: The hose length is somewhat restrictive and stiff, which can cause the vacuum to tip if overextended in upright mode. Additionally, the dirt tank capacity is smaller than some traditional uprights, necessitating more frequent emptying during heavy-duty sessions.
Verdict: Despite the stiff hose, the sheer versatility of a detachable pod combined with a certified HEPA seal makes this an easy recommendation. For pet owners who need to transition between carpets and stairs, the 2998 offers premium filtration and portability that far outclasses its price-bracket competitors.
