The Verdict
The NordicTrack T Series 5 (NTL17624) is a high-utility entry point for users who want the iFIT ecosystem without the premium price of the Commercial line. Its standout feature is the SmartAdjust technology, which automatically manages your 0-10% incline and 0-10 MPH speed based on trainer cues or your personal fitness history. Users consistently praise the KeyFlex Cushioning, which provides a significantly softer landing than pavement, making it an excellent choice for daily cardio and joint preservation.
The trade-offs are clear: the 5-inch LCD display is utilitarian at best, essentially requiring you to provide your own tablet to view iFIT’s immersive content. Additionally, the 10 MPH top speed and 10% incline may not satisfy elite sprinters or high-intensity hikers. However, when you weigh these limitations against the low barrier to entry and the inclusion of ActivePulse heart rate automation, the T Series 5 remains a superior value. You aren’t paying for a built-in theater; you’re paying for a reliable, smart-adjusting trainer that delivers professional-grade coaching for the price of a standard budget machine.
